Auto repair shop software

For independent shops with one to five bays. Repair orders, inspections with photos, estimates the customer approves on their phone, technician time, parts and your numbers, from drop-off to pickup.

The demo is a made-up shop, Sample Auto Service, with made-up customers. Press anything you like.

One car, drop-off to pickup

How a repair order moves through Tessavio Auto.

  1. Check-in

The car gets its repair order number. A booked job is already on it.

  2. Inspection

Items marked red, yellow or green, with photos of what's worn.

  3. Estimate

Sent to the customer as a link, by text or email.

  4. Approval

The customer approves or declines each job on their phone and signs.

  5. The work

The technician punches on and off and writes the cause and correction.

  6. Parts

Tracked from needed to ordered, received and installed.

  7. Invoice and payment

At the counter, or the customer pays from their phone.

  8. Pickup

The car goes home. The gross profit and hours land in the shop report.

Features, each one on video

Every card below has a short video of that part of the software. All the how-to videos on one page →

Run the shop

Where every car is, who is working on it, and what it is waiting for.

The board and floor map

Every open repair order is a card in the column of its stage: checked in, waiting on the customer's OK, waiting on parts, in progress, ready for pickup. Move a card and the repair order and the customer's status page change with it.

The floor map shows which car is in which bay and who is on it. A TV on the shop wall can show it with the last-name initial only and no plates.

The technician's clock

Each technician sees only their own jobs, with big buttons: Start, Pause with a reason, and Done with the cause and correction. The shop report puts billed hours next to the hours each technician was actually punched on.

Parts and sublet

One list of every part on open repair orders: needed, ordered with its ETA, received, installed. Needed parts come first and late orders stand out.

Sublet work, like alignments or machine shop jobs, is logged with where it went and when it is due back.

Canned jobs in one click

Set up your everyday jobs once, with the labor, the parts and the correction text, and add one to a repair order in one click. If the car was booked for that service, the job is already on it at check-in.

The customer still approves it like any other job.

Get paid

Approvals from the customer's phone, fees that add themselves, and the profit on every repair order.

Approvals from the customer's phone

Send the estimate as a link, by text or email. The customer sees the inspection photos and the technician's notes, taps Approve or Not now on each job and signs, and the repair order updates by itself.

Declined jobs go to the follow-up list. The signature is kept on the repair order.

Shop supplies and fees

Shop supplies (a percent of labor, parts or both, with a minimum and a maximum) and flat fees are added to every repair order automatically. The counter can waive them on one repair order, with a reason.

Once an invoice is issued, its fees don't change.

Gross profit on every repair order

Every repair order shows its gross profit on parts, on labor and per hour sold, and the shop report adds it up for any period and per technician. A markup matrix prices a part from its cost as you type it.

Labor profit needs what each technician costs you per hour.

Taking payment

Record cash, check or card at the counter and print a receipt. Or the customer pays an issued invoice by card from their phone, on Stripe's own page, so the shop never sees a card number.

Paying online needs the shop's own Stripe account. The money goes from Stripe to the shop's bank, and Stripe charges its own card fees.

Keep customers coming back

Texts customers can answer, and a list of the work they said “later” to.

Texting with customers

Text customers from the shop's texting number, and their replies come back in. Automatic texts (drop-off reminder, ready for pickup, service due, declined-work follow-up) are each off until you turn them on.

Service-due and declined-work texts only go to customers who gave written consent to marketing texts. STOP is honored. Live texting needs a number registered with the phone carriers; we set it up with you.

Declined work and service due

Every job a customer said no or “later” to lands on a follow-up list, with its date and its dollar amount. A service-due list shows which cars are due for maintenance, car by car.

What it doesn’t do yet

Better you read it here than find out after setup.

  • Ordering parts from supplier catalogs like PartsTech or Worldpac isn't connected yet. Parts are typed in or come from your canned jobs.
  • There's no labor guide yet. Labor hours come from your canned jobs or are typed in.
  • No plate-to-VIN or CARFAX lookup yet.
  • No QuickBooks sync yet. You can export your records at any time.

How it starts

No sales call. Look at the demo, and email when you want to talk.

  • Set up in person at shops in central New Jersey, usually after hours or on a Saturday. Farther away, we set it up with you online. Your services, your labor rate and your bays go in first.
  • Your staff are shown how to use it, at your shop.
  • A 30-day free trial that starts the day you run real repair orders through it.
  • Your records are yours. Export all of them at any time, and if you leave, you take your data with you.
